At present, we have gathered the result of the experience gained, on the one hand in the generation of industrial property portfolios with patents and trademarks, started in 2005, and on the other, the creation of the portfolio of Products & Solutions in different TRLs, initiated in 2105, and its value in the market later, trying, above all, to converge the efforts of products and solutions with those of the patents applied for. Despite the efforts it has not always been possible to do so. On the other hand, an IP policy had to be defined that would give more solidity and prestige to the institution with a view to presenting projects that requested us in different calls and replacing the Director's declaration "CTTC letter Policy regarding Industrial and Intellectual Property "that has been used until now.

We have collected, recommendations and references from the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) and have defined the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY @ CTTC. Document also necessary, on the other hand, to follow the recommendations that the HRR accreditation for the HSR4R Research also requires and that will be presented at the next meeting of the Board of Trustees for approval.

As a result of all this, and also following the WIPO's own instructions, we have created the "CTTC Invention / Innovation declaration form" as a tool available to researchers to value their ideas and propose consideration by the CTTC institution as a tangible asset to value and continue to develop to make economic returns.

During 2017 we already have 2 declarations of Invention / Innovation corresponding to:

  • Autonomous Sensing and Localization Cover Helmet for Emergencies Communications
  • Cloud Optical Access Networks for virtualized GNSS receivers
